YAMAHA INFORMATION FOR STICKERS / LIGHT COVER FOR FRENCH RD350LC CUP
![]() |
The principle is to have some race with only some RD350LC with authorized modifications in order to have bikes with very similar performances. These championship were organised by the importer of the country and some sponsor (Gauloise for France, Wrangler & Which bike for UK...). In France, the bikes were the white & blue model for '81 to '85 (it's because sometimes we heard RD350LC "Gauloise replica": it's not a replica but the blue Gauloise logo looks like the blue color of the bike...).
In all countries, the owner of the bike is the racer but in UK, it's very different: the importer MISTUI UK is the owner of the bike, and do the maintenance of them. For each race, the racers ballot for a bike.
In France and germany, in '83, the winner of the cup win a participation to the European 250 championship with a TZ250; by this way, the "CUP" (and "PRO-AM") series launched some stars of GP's: Niall Mackenzie,
Here are for '83 the participant countries with numbers of bike engaged: Germany 240 , France 405, UK 700, Switzerland 70, Netherlands 120, Denmark 60, Sweden 50 and Belgium 50 so 1700 motorcycles total !
At the end of each championship, and European race is done with the best pilots of each countries.
