CURIOSITIES / EVOLUTIONS.

YAMAHA name in gold color on some OES parts. It's a mistake done by YAMAHA !

In the Netherlands, some 4L0 had a third orange strippe like on the TZ500 from Boet Van Dulmen and Jack Middelburg. I don't know if it was all motorcycle or few of them. I guess it has been done by the Yamaha importer IMN bv.

Front and rear 4L0/31K lens are different: the front one are transparent and the rear are translucent to avoid to dazzle people following the motorcycle

Same stamped reference on differents pipes: '83/'84 RD350LC2 or '85/'86 RD350N / RD350F.

Perhaps YAMAHA had many stamped steel sheet in end of '84 and so use it to make '85/'86 pipes...

On RD350LC2, fork tube had a reduced diameter between the upper and the under bracket on '83 model. Part number is 29L-23110-00

'84 model is straight and part number is 31K-23110-00

On RD350LC2, different carbs shapes
On RD350LC2, different fuel tap

Bolt on the low point of the pipes end cans since '86 on RD350N2 / F2 and equivalent RZs.

It can be to drain oil accumulation and water condensates but in fact there is never these things.

It can also be a point to fit pollution sensor or pressure sensor in factory to check that the engine works well...

Machined surface on rear wheels from since '86 on RD350N2 / F2 and equivalent RZs. This surface can be painted or not.

This machined surface could be used to hold the wheel during machining of the wheel.

In Europe, many of '86 to '91 RD350F2 (1WT and 3DH1 model) were assembled by YAMAHA with old '83 or '84 RD350LC2 (31K model) instead of new heads stamped "1UA". 31K heads have a spherical squish and 1UA tronconical squish.

Swiss 1WU engine has the 1UA heads
